Sneaker Law x Miami Law Presents:
THE ART OF THE SNEAKER DEAL
Case Study Competition
Case studies will allow you to represent artists, designers, and brands on issues including IP protection of sneakers, rights of publicity, licensing deals, and collaboration agreements.
Judged by industry lawyers and business executives.
Competition will include a half-day conference touching on contemporary legal and business issues impacting the sneaker industry.
Must be currently enrolled in a JD or LL.M. program. Graduate business school students and design students are eligible to participate. Participants can register as a team or as an individual and be paired with teammates. Teams (of up to 4) must include a law student but can also include business and design school students.
Registrants will receive three (3) case studies in advance of the competition. Two (2) will be marked preliminary rounds and one (1) will be marked final round.
On the Monday before the competition, registrants will be assigned to their preliminary round time slot and the client they are representing.
Each team will have two (2x) rounds (one AM and one PM).
Each team will have thirty (30) minutes to present to one (or two) judges and judges will have fifteen (15) minutes for feedback.
Judges will score each round using the Competition rubric created for this competition.
Scores will be totaled after Day One.
At the Day One reception, the finalists (2-3 teams) will be announced, and they will be directed which party they will represent in the final case study (case study previously provided to them).
